Amazonbot user agent
Mozilla/5.0 AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko; compatible; Amazonbot/0.1) Chrome/W.X.Y.Z Safari/537.36
Published as an example string; Chrome/W.X.Y.Z is a version placeholder. Amazon also runs Amzn-SearchBot (search) and Amzn-User (user-triggered), which have separate tokens.
Match it in robots.txt with the token Amazonbot. User agents can be faked, so check requests against Amazon's published IP ranges before trusting them. Match the request IP against Amazon's published IP address page (HTML, not JSON); the current page documents no reverse-DNS method. Crawl-delay is not supported.
Should you block Amazonbot?
Yes. Amazon says Amazonbot follows robots.txt. “Automated crawling from these listed user agents respects the Robots Exclusion Protocol, honoring the user-agent and the allow/disallow directives.”

Crawlable isn't the same as cited
Letting AI crawlers in is step one. Citedify checks whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews actually recommend your brand, and what to fix when they don't.
